Cards for Knots sells wedding stationery — printed cards you order from us, and digital invitations you build and share yourself. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

Cards for Knots is operated by Inkpix Private Limited, D.No 35, Part-II, S.No.358/18, Railway Station Road, Tirupathur, Tirupathur District, Tamil Nadu 635601, India. You can reach us at design@cardsforknots.com.

What we collect

When you order

Your name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses, together with what you ordered and when. We keep a record of the payment — the amount, the date and the payment provider’s reference — but never your card or bank details.

When you design a card

We store the designs you create and any photographs, artwork or text you upload into them. If you sign in, we store the email address or mobile number you used. If you do not sign in, we keep an anonymous key in your browser so your draft is still there when you come back — that key is not linked to your identity.

If you share a design for someone else to edit or view, anyone holding that link can open it. Share links are yours to hand out, so only send them to people you want to have access.

When you send a digital invitation

We store the invitation you build, including names, event dates and venue details. If you add a guest list, we store each guest’s name and mobile number so their personal invitation link works. When a guest opens an invitation we record that it was opened and how often; if they reply we store their RSVP, party size and any message they leave.

Your guest list is yours, not ours. We use it only to deliver and track your invitation. We do not market to your guests and we do not add them to any list of our own.

Everyone

Our servers keep ordinary web logs — IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and the time of each visit — which we use to keep the site running, understand what is popular, and detect abuse. We also record the IP address of one-time-password requests so codes cannot be requested endlessly.

How you sign in

We sign you in with a one-time code rather than a stored password. Depending on what you give us, that code goes to your email address or to your WhatsApp number. To send a WhatsApp message we pass your mobile number and the code to Meta Platforms, Inc. through the WhatsApp Business Platform, which processes it under its own terms. We use WhatsApp only for codes you asked for and for messages about your order — never for marketing without your separate consent.

You may also choose Sign in with Google. If you do, Google confirms your email address to us and we receive your name and a Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password, and we cannot see anything else in your Google account. Codes are short-lived and stored only as a hash until they expire or are used.

Payments

Card, UPI and net-banking payments are handled by our payment providers — Razorpay Software Private Limited, and where offered PhonePe and Stripe. Your card or bank details are entered on the provider’s systems and are never stored by us. We keep only the amount, the date and the provider’s transaction reference, so we can match a payment to your order, issue an invoice, and process a refund if one is due.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising. We share only what a service needs in order to do its job:

  • Razorpay, PhonePe and Stripe — payment details, when you pay us.
  • Meta Platforms — your mobile number, to deliver WhatsApp messages you asked for or agreed to.
  • Google — if you use Sign in with Google, to confirm your identity. Fonts also load from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page renders.
  • Zoho — order and contact details, synchronised to our customer-records system so we can service your order and answer queries.
  • Microsoft Azure — text you choose to transliterate in the card editor is sent to Microsoft’s translation service to convert it between scripts. Send only text you are comfortable sharing.
  • Our printing and delivery partners — your name, delivery address and phone number, so a printed order can reach you.
  • Our hosting provider — which stores this data on our behalf, on servers in India.

Our pages may embed content from other services, such as an Instagram feed. Those services set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our safety, or the integrity of the service.

Marketing

We send promotional email only with your consent, and every such message carries an unsubscribe link. Messages about an order you have placed — confirmation, dispatch, a design proof — are not marketing and are sent regardless, because you need them.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and wishlist, hold an anonymous design draft, and make share links work. We also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out and may detach an unsaved anonymous draft.

How long we keep things

  • Orders, invoices and payment records — for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Account details, designs and uploads — until you delete them or ask us to close your account.
  • Abandoned anonymous drafts — cleared automatically after a period of inactivity.
  • Invitations, guest lists and RSVPs — until you delete them or ask us to.
  • One-time codes — minutes.
  • Server logs — a short rolling window, for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. You can also object to your information being used for marketing, and withdraw consent at any time. Much of it you can change yourself in your account.

Write to design@cardsforknots.com from the address or number on the account and we will respond within 30 days. Some records — invoices, for example — we must keep for legal reasons even after you ask us to delete them; where that applies we will tell you which and why.

If you received an invitation as a guest and want your details removed, ask the person who invited you — the guest list belongs to them. You can also write to us and we will pass the request on.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Uploaded files are held in private storage and served through signed, expiring links rather than public URLs. Signing in is by one-time code or Google, and any credentials we hold are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and move the date at the top. Significant changes will be notified to account holders directly.
